In case you haven’t heard, Queen Bey has officially declared herself a part of Team Vegan! And all while keeping with her Instagram aesthetic, which is a feat in and of itself.
She announced the dietary switch in two posts, one of a delicious looking avocado-on-a-bagel dish to put all avocado toast to shame, and a second of her and her backup dancers in formation (sorry, had to!). Those posts easily racked up millions of likes, with 3.3 million likes on her dancer post alone, and link to her site announcement.
In preparation for Coachella, Beyoncé announced that she’s taking part in a vegan meal planner diet in order to be healthy and get fit (those abs aren’t free after all). The meal planner isn’t some random site, it’s a carefully curated vegan meal program she and longtime trainer, Marco Borges, created together. It’s called the 22-day vegan challenge, or the Beyoncé Vegan Challenge. Although there are 44 days to Coachella… could it be a 2x challenge? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
The planner creates a personalized menu for you, with simple and easy to make recipes that are, of course, completely vegan. You can then make a grocery list and have your produce and ingredients delivered to your front door.
Not only that, but Jay-Z is also on the team! Jay-Z has been blogging about his transition into veganism with Bey, along with being a feature on the sign-up site itself.
But why is this so important? Tons of other celebrities are vegan, Miley Cyrus, Joaquin Phoenix, J-Lo, Ellen DeGeneres to name only a few.
What makes Beyoncé so exceptional?
Well, the main answer here is the Bey-Hive. Beyoncé has 117 million loyal followers on Instagram, her concerts sell out in seconds, and her merch is worn around the world. People try to replicate her looks, follow her lifestyle (as much as they can), and they stan for her music. Point is when Beyoncé says something, everyone listens.
Now that Beyoncé has announced her vegan lifestyle change, Twitter is flooded with support and declarations of how the meal planner has changed them. Seriously, you’d think Twitter is now a health blog site with the amount of before and after pics. Keep in mind, this service has been around since around 2010. This onslaught of support started as soon as Beyoncé announces her diet. Coincidence? I think not!
Not only is she talking about the change, she’s showing it. It’s been almost a year since she gave birth to her twins, Carter and Rumi, and apparently that’s when she officially started the conversion to veganism. Since then, Bey has been showing off her progression. Her latest shoot where she announced her shift is no different.
Now we just have to wait and see how long it takes for the rest of the world to convert…
